Privacy Notice

Last updated: this is a draft, not yet dated for publication.

This is a plain-language draft, not a legal document. It describes what the app actually does with data today, in the app's own words, so students and schools know what they're agreeing to. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before anyone relies on it as a compliance document — including under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), which may apply here and hasn't been checked against this notice.

What we collect

When you register, we ask for a username, your email (used only to sign you in), your region/district/school, and which curriculum year you're studying. As you use the app, we record your quiz attempts and answers, duel/event/competition results, and which announcements you've seen. If you enable notifications, your browser's push subscription details are stored so we can send them. If you lose access to your account and message us from the login screen, we keep that message until an admin resolves it.

What we don't collect

No payment information — the app is free and never asks for one. No third-party advertising or analytics trackers are built into the app today.

Who can see it

  • Other students can see your username, school and region on leaderboards, and your answers during a live duel or group event you both joined.
  • School/platform admins can see every student's activity, accuracy and school, to run the leaderboard, post announcements and help with locked-out accounts.
  • Your raw password is never visible to anyone, including admins — it's stored hashed by our authentication provider (Supabase), and a locked-out account is reset by generating a new temporary password, not by reading the old one.
  • The app is built on Supabase, which hosts the database and handles sign-in — they process data on our behalf as our infrastructure provider, the same way any host does.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. There's currently no self-service way to delete your own account from within the app — to request deletion or a copy of your data, contact an admin through the "forgot password" message form or however your school has told you to reach them.

If you're under 18

Most students using this app are Senior High School students, and some will be minors. If you're a parent, guardian, or school administrator with questions about a student's account or data, reach out through the same admin contact above.

Questions

This notice will be updated as the app changes. If anything here doesn't match what you're experiencing, that's worth flagging — let an admin know.
